Conceptual concerns
If architecture can provide a new definition of life style, limitations and challenges in sever natural disasters might find their solutions by it. Either confronting these limitations or exploiting them, There are various attitudes which might define a dwelling challenge with the flood phenomena. Flood House investigates flood as a problem and turns it into an opportunity of design which can influence on amelioration of the human life. Not only it provides memorial times for family members but also its bewilderment fascinates them as such an impressive period of life instead of ruins or miserable memories. In fact, the manifestation of flood house is simplicity in form and complicity in behaviour which leads into a flexible organization of space by penetration of purified water in flood situation. On one hand four functional zones of common spaces as it is scheduled in British Housing are separated by four corridors and stairs, Although they are connected together associating a cube in ordinary foodless situation.
On the other hand every zone is flexible to change it’s place by floating without any disturbance in living needs . This disarrangement defines new life style, new perspectives, new circulation system and of course new presentation of light and colour in composition with purified water. The purified water surrounds four functional zones providing such a simple elegant new appearance to the flood home. In comparison between multi- appearances of flood house, First of all, The life system is more introversive in regular times rather than the flood period which is more extroversive and casual in placement of volumes. They might also create different shapes for homes while they can change their place after a flood period. Following the trend to create different functions; purified water in home can also work as a kind of exciting pool with a low depth for children which is a home within home.
